RCDs, or residual current devices, are lifesaving devices which are designed to prevent fatal electric shock if you touch something live, such as bare wire.

This electrical RCD adapter from SMJ electrical constantly monitors the electric current flowing through one or more circuits it is used to protect. If it detects electricity flowing down an unintended path, such as through a person who has touched a live part, the RCD will quickly switch the circuit off, significantly reducing the risk of death or serious injury.

Recommended by leading power tool manufacturers, and approved to the latest European standards, this RCD cuts power in <30m/s when an imbalance is detected to prevent electrocution - essential safety protection when using electrical garden equipment and power tools.
